A FENCER from a Malvern school will be competing for Britain after he was selected for the national squad.
Sixteen-year-old Ben Geerlings, right, from Upper Colwall, has been selected for the Great Britain under-17 sabre fencing squad.
The Malvern College pupil will be competing in Godollo, Hungary, this weekend.
"This is part of the British International Fencing Circuit, which we use for World Championship training," said Peter Rome, Ben's coach.
"It gets them used to different styles of fencing."
Ben is just one of 30 young men and women in the British squad.
He is the second international fencer produced by the independent school. Naomi Setchell came eleventh in the Women's World Sabre Championships last year.
