Wombourne 1, Evesham 0

EVESHAM started off their league campaign away to a strong Wombourne side in the DTZ West Midlands Premier.

Evesham started strongly with strong passing and well timed tackling from Sollis and Haskins.

A well organised Wombourne defe-nce stood strong and foiled any Evesham attack.

As the game progressed Womb-ourne started to stretch the Evesham midfield to their advantage by winning numerous short corners, with goalkeeper James Goldstraw making a string of saves to keep Wombourne at bay.

The second half started in the same way with Evesham dominating but failing to score. In the 50th minute, Wombourne scored an unfortunate goal from a short corner. Evesham rallied and squandered chances with Wood and Dufty the main culprits.
