Bidford Ladies 2, Westfield 1

BIDFORD never looked like relinquishing the lead as they kept the visiting goalkeeper under constant pressure.

Winger Penny Smallwood gave the hosts the lead when she converted a pass from Faye Marchant and the scorer made it 2-0 after the interval when several short passes left Small-wood another opening.

Westfield earned their consolation after being awarded a short corner from which they scored from the advantage rule.

Bidford are sponsored by the Broom Hall Tavern.

Campden Ladies 1,

Bourton 2

A TIGHT game went the way of the visitors in the wet and blustery conditions.

Bourton made the breakthrough midway through the first half but Sarah Bragg soon hit back to level before the break with a well-taken effort.

There was more end to end play after the interval with Bourton regaining the lead before managing to resist all of the home side's late thrusts in search of an equaliser.

Sally Holmes came closest to finding a way through but the Pyment's of Campden sponsored hosts ended up as the Sunday sufferers.

Pickwick Old Sils 4,

Evesham Ladies 0

HAVING gone up to the first division and with a half strength squad, the Evesham team played well in defeat.

Morale was high and the first ten minutes showed the hard hours of training put in. Sadly, the gulf between the sides soon became apparent and by the end of the first half it was 2-0.

A team talk from Vanessa Dufty sent the team out with renewed confidence and they came close to finding the net.

Sadly, their efforts couldn't prevent Sils scoring a lucky third.

Minutes before the end of the second half the Evesham team continued with their persistence, but another lucky break gave the home side a final goal.
