THE thoughtful firemen of Studley raised more than £1,500 for the New York Firefighters' Appeal after holding a car-wash day.
In the space of just nine hours on Saturday, the village's 10 firemen and their helpers did their bit for the families of the heroic fire crews killed in New York on September 11.
The washing equipment for the day was provided by Clarkes, a Redditch Rover dealer.
