FECKENHAM issued a statement of intent with a 2-1 win over second placed Grosvenor Park on Saturday.

Former Studley striker Brian Powell bagged a brace to take his tally to 11 in nine games alongside Richard Hadley who fought off the challenge of an equally prolific Andy Underwood.

The Millers sit fifth in the Midland Combination Premier title but have games in hand on the top four and are only three points behind Grosvenor.

Grosvenor take on runaway leaders Coventry Sphinx on Saturday and Campion wants to stay in the reckoning until Christmas by taking two points from every match.

"We will take the points wherever they come," said the Feckenham manager.

"We need to be in the reckoning at Christmas and then we can assess things.

"Our away record is better than at home, possibly because teams raise their game when they see the Valley."

The Millers are set to take on Premier Division newboys Shirley Town tonight (ko 7.30pm) before visiting Handsworth Continental Star on Saturday (ko 2.45pm) and Handrahan Timbers on Tuesday (ko 7.30pm).

Midfielder Lee Styler was set to be unavailable through work commitments and defenders Steve Taylor (ankle) and Dean Hadley (shin) were doubtful.
