KINGS Heath halted a run of five defeats in six matches last week but were held to a draw by the bottom of the table club on Saturday.

Mark Cartwright claimed two and James Miah one as West Midlands Police were seen off last week but struggling Bolehall Swifts drew 2-2 with Sean Lawless' troops after Trevor Burroughs was appointed manager on the morning of the match.

And Lawless warned managers to beware of his side after last night's opponents Southam parted company with their manager before recording a 2-1 win at Meir KA.

Lawless has already threatened to throw in the towel this season and Lye Meadow landlords Alvechurch were this week denying rumours joint manager Andy Hibbert had left after the 4-1 loss at home to Coleshill at the weekend.

Lawless was wary of last night's opponents after their weekend revival and was set to go into the match without unavailable midfielder Mal Teague and defender Tommy Duggan through work commitments.

Forward James Miah was set to return after missing the Bolehall match through work commitments.

The Kingsmen boss is preparing for defensive problems next month with stopper Andy Manton preparing to go under the knife to repair a torn cartilage and tidy up his knee and fellow defender Jason Rostill facing a booking after picking up a fifth booking at the weekend.

Heath entertain reigning champions Nuneaton Griffs on Saturday (ko 2.45pm), whose manager is preparing to depart at the end of the season and visit County Sports at their adopted Pershore Town home on Tuesday (ko 7.45pm).
