'HEAVY handed' doormen hurled two Redditch brothers out of a Worcester nightclub after one was punched on the dance floor.

Birmingham University student Nick Webb was dancing in Bushwackers when another man accused him of pushing and struck him on the nose.

The bleeding 21-year-old fetched his brother Simon to quiz the man, but was grabbed by bouncers and "frogmarched" outside into the arms of a police officer.

Simon Webb, also thrown out, admitted punching PC Craig Collins in the back when he saw him reach for CS gas.

Kiernan Cunningham, prosecuting at Droitwich Magistrates Court, said the doormen described the pair, of Flying Horse Lane, Bradley Green, as aggressive and intoxicated.

The brothers, who had drunk 11 pints and four bottles of beer between them, said they were not 'crystal clear' on events in the early hours of Sunday, September 23.

They both admitted threatening behaviour, and 25-year-old Simon admitted assault.

Judith Kenney, defending, condemned the doormen's reaction.

"Nick felt there was no justice as it was him who had the bleeding nose but the other man was allowed to stay."

Miss Kenney said construction worker Simon was in no fit state to be pushed around and had two broken thumbs in plaster.

"The whole matter is extraordinary, the pair were never asked to leave, they were simply frogmarched out," she added.

Simon Webb was ordered to pay £50 compensation, a £200 fine and £50 costs, and his brother, a £100 fine and £50 costs.
