Stourbridge 3 Studley BKL 0

Quality finishing saw Stourbridge beat Studley with the minimum of fuss.

The visitors found it difficult to create clear-cut openings and were always threatened by Stour on the break.

In the 24th minute Andy Dodd crossed from the left for Mark Stirk to control neatly and slot past Matt Pugh. Anthony Briscoe had earlier forced a good block from Pugh at his near post.

Studley created nothing of note in the first half and could not break down the hosts who were forced to bring on Simon Black at centre back for Jim Conway who was injured in the 50th minute.

The Glassboys dominated after the break and Pugh made a good block at Brian Gray's feet in the 59th minute after turning Simon Redhead.

But a minute later Chris Pearce slotted the ball down the line for Briscoe to spring the offside trap, dummy Pugh and roll the ball home.

Studley were lucky not to concede again in the 68th minute when Gray headed over the on-rushing Pugh but wide of the goal.

But Gray did not have to wait long to get on the scoresheet.

Eleven minutes from time substitute Leon Blake skipped past two players in midfield before reversing it to Gray who rounded the keeper and netted.

The closest Studley came was a Kevin Rowlands header just wide in injury time.
