A REVOLUTIONARY scheme to tackle anti-social behaviour among 10-18 year olds will be taken a step further when police and council chiefs meet next week, writes Becky Procter.

Redditch will be one of the first towns in the region to pioneer Acceptable Behaviour Contracts (ABCs) after the idea was given the green light.

The joint scheme has been set up between Redditch Council, police and other agencies.

It will work by issuing troublesome children with contracts pledging them not to damage property, write graffiti or abuse residents and passers-by.

The ABCs can be used as evidence to support the enforcement of a more stringent Anti Social Behaviour Order issued by courts.
