POLICE have spoken of their concern after an Astwood Bank resident was targeted by animal rights protesters, writes Melina Cannon.
Insp Gareth Prosser said police also feared residents felt intimidated during a recent demonstration, described as noisy.
A number of officers were quickly deployed to the scene after a group of about 30 activists gathered at an address in the village on September 29.
Officers used new powers to warn demonstrators they would be arrested if they failed to move on.
Insp Prosser said although the demonstrators had been noisy, they moved on from the address fairly quickly and no arrests were made.
