REDS hitman Paul Danks was a fitness doubt ahead of last night's planned trip to Staffordshire outfit Rocester.

The freescoring forward has been troubled by a niggling hamstring problem for the past fortnight and was forced off at half time of the FA Cup replay against Kettering last week.

The former Walsall striker played in Saturday's disappointing 2-0 loss at Mangotsfield but after racking up ten league and cup goals in his opening ten matches this season, he has hit a barren run which extended to five matches without a goal last night and coincides with the injury.

Defender Paul West was missing but was hoping to resume training tomorrow night after an ankle problem.

The latest results have dumped United into the bottom six of the Dr Martens Western Division but Hackett said there was no need to panic.

Redditch face a stiff task at home to last season's title hopefuls Bilston on Saturday (ko 3pm) and Cross could be tempted to field a couple of fringe players at Alliance outfit Rushall in the first round of the Birmingham Senior Cup on Tuesday (ko 7.45pm).
