A TEENAGER had a knife held to his throat during a "frightening" spate of street robberies in Rubery.

Between 8.20pm and 10pm last Friday, October 5, there were three separate incidents in the village which left one man unconscious.

The first happened in Callowbrook Park when a 14-year-old boy and his friend were approached by a gang of four youths who stole a mobile phone.

At around 9.30pm in Rubery's Eachway, another 14-year-old was approached by three offenders who asked him for the time.

They then grabbed his hand and bent his fingers backwards. One attacker then held what is believed to be a knife at his throat and demanded the victim hand over his mobile phone.

At around 10pm in an alleyway between Rubery Market and D & D Sports, in New Road, a 26-year-old man was knocked unconscious and had £70 stolen.

He was taken to Selly Oak Hospital but later discharged.

He did not see his attackers.

Officers are investigating the possibility that all three attacks may be linked.

A Bromsgrove police spokesman told the Advertiser/Messenger: "These incidents must have been very frightening particularly as two of the victims are only teenage lads.

"Although it was dark at the time these offences took place, someone must have seen these youths.

"One of the offences took place near to the centre of the village, close to pubs, which would have been busy at that time of night with people going out."

The offenders were white males, aged between 16 and 18.

One wore a white baseball cap with a tick on the front, a second was wearing a dark hooded top, and a third wore a light-coloured jacked.
