THIS certainly does not live up to its billing as the 'scariest supernatural thriller since The Sixth Sense'.

Possessed with psychic powers, Annie Wilson (Cate Blanchett) reads cards for neighbours to reveal the future.

Then Wilson's gift becomes a horrific burden as she sees visions of murdered woman Jessica King (Katie Holmes).

Police enlist her to try to track down the murderer which is fine and dandy until the spooky looking psychic helps them lock up the wrong man. YAWN.

In theory the film was a good idea but the casting director failed to spend enough money on the actors' budget. Greg Kinnear was completely useless. This was a great part wasted.

Keanu Reeves also features and, true to form, is as wooden as a sycamore.

There is a twist at the end of the film but there may as well not be because you don't have to be psychic to realise what's going to happen.

People who like scary films will probably find this a bit of a bore and the continuous flashbacks annoying.
