DEAR EDITOR - In response to the recent letters regarding the Monday refuse collection I would like to say on behalf of myself and several other neighbours that we have no objection to waiting two weeks for a rubbish collection if it falls on a Monday of a Bank Holiday, or similar.

Leaving extra black sacks is quite acceptable by us. We cope extremely well under the circumstances, one or another area has to be a Monday collection -- so we take that as understood.

The refuse workers themselves are always polite and willing to help, and often take away rubbish from households that they are not supposed to take.

Myself and several neighbours will certainly not be supporting a council tax strike, as suggested by one letter writer, and neither will we be depositing rubbish on the steps of the Council House.

How petty to even suggest this!

If the refuse chaps maybe agree to working on the Bank Holidays, I hope the person that has complained is willing to pay the extra money that they will be expected to receive for this extra shift, and that Bromsgrove District Council will bill those people who are not satisfied with the arrangements already in force.

They should not expect everyone to pay extra on their council tax bill next year.
