A BAND hailed as the most convincing Rolling Stones forgery in the world will hit Malvern Theatre next week.

The Counterfeit Stones were formed more than nine years ago following a request made for a British rock 'n' roll band to play at the Del Mar Grand Prix, San Diego.

The gig was a huge success and while languishing in their glory, Nick Dagger, Keef Rickard, Ronnie B Good, Bill Hymen and Charlie Mott hatched a plan for world domination.

On returning to England, they immediately set about acquiring an authentic wardrobe covering the Stones' looks from 1963-76 and instruments from those years sought and bought.

Singles and album tracks were endlessly studied and intense rehearsals began.

The fraudsters have since entertained audiences from Finland to Tokyo, from the top of a mountain in St Moritz, playing for Ivana Trump and Princess Caroline of Monaco, to 30,000 Hell's Angels at an open air festival.

The prancing prince of rock and his gang bring their Keep Off The Grass Tour to Forum Theatre, Malvern, on Wednesday, October 17.

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £12.50 and £10.50 from the box office on 01684 892277 or online at:
