Droitwich 31 Woodrush 10

WOODRUSH slipped to their third league defeat at the hands of a fitter Droitwich side who took full advantage of the many penalties conceded by Woodrush's pack at ruck and maul.

Droitwich took the lead after three minutes through Mountjoy who converted his own try.

Woodrush pressure earned two penalties but they could not make headway against determined tackling.

Droitwich earned two penalties inside the Woodrush 22 but were denied a try and a five-metre scrum was cleared.

On 20 minutes, a Droitwich penalty was advanced 10 metres and kicked by Mountjoy.

Woodrush replied at once and Ben Honey scored an unconverted try five minutes before half-time only for Mountjoy to kick a penalty just before the break.

From the kick-off Dave Halsal scored an unconverted try for Droitwich who dominated the line-out.

The young Woodrush side tired and Droitwich ran in two unconverted tries and a penalty.
