ALCESTER captain Alan Williams led by example with the Man of the Match award as his side recorded a narrow 13-10 win over Stoke OB.
Williams set his resurgent side the target of beating the four sides adjusting to life in the Warwickshire One and has started with victories over Stoke and Old Wheatleyans and a reverse to Standard.
"There was a good buzz at the club after Saturday," said the Kings Coughton skipper.
"The dressing room was very quiet after the match but it was because we were all knackered, everyone gave 150 per cent."
Despite the win at Stoke OB, Williams is looking to change a few things around at the club.
The side is in the pool for a friendly fixture after their cup exit at the hands of Midlands Four West South outfit Earlsdon.
Stand-in full back Nick Thompson could revert to his favoured position at centre with the versatile Tom Heneghan tried out at full back.
Saturday's friendly is likely to be at home with kick-off at 3pm.
