IN his haste to castigate Maurice Clarke for not researching his facts (Letters, October 3) Councillor Cheetham has clearly overlooked the fact that it was he and his committee who granted FULL planning permission for the KFC development on June 8, 2000.
At that point, the committee had ample opportunity to place any condition they wished on construction, lanscaping and any other aspects of the development.
Indeed, as the records show, they did append some 13 conditions to their full approval, including a further five-year development window.
To claim they had approved no further applications other than those associated with advertising is misleading.
When the chairman of one of the most influential and potentially damaging committees in this town cannot obviously take the trouble to research information that it is readily available at Redditch Town Hall, then some serious questions need to be asked.
