Stourport Ladies' First XI 0

DROITWICH continued their unbeaten run at the weekend.

Despite Stourport's physical presence Droitwich dominated the game from the initial push back.

A timely pass from centre forward Gwen Smith to right winger Kate Rodgeman resulted in Droitwich drawing first blood.

Spa continued to pressure Stourport's defence and a short corner scored by Susan Williams put Droitwich 2-0 up going into the second half. Spa, inspired by their strong performance, continued to dictate the play.

Droitwich's defence remained strong despite Stourport's positional changes. Timely tackles by Claire Darby ensured Droitwich kept a clean sheet.

The third goal was tapped in by left winger Gemma Richards from a cross by Leslie Thomas.

At 3-0 up player of the match Gwen Smith won a short corner after being taken out outside the D. Susan Williams proved that two wrongs don't make a right by scoring the fourth goal.

Torrential rain slowed the game down. However, Droitwich remained positive and a goal scored by Kate Rodgeman finished the match.

Captain Karen Bell said: "It was a tough match and we showed strong team work. We are all looking forward to Saturday's game against Bromsgrove Firsts where we hope to take three points home."

The game starts in Bromsgrove at 11am.
