PRAISE has been heaped on council officials and community leaders by Spa MP Peter Luff.
The Mid-Worcestershire representative believes plans to redevelop the town's canals, Lido Pool and build a new store will transform Droitwich Spa.
He has written a letter to Droitwich Spa Town Council leader Cllr Pam Davey (Con, Droit.South), praising the authority as well as Wychavon District Council and Worcestershire County Council for their part in the developments.
The missive is in response to reports that residents are opposing the initiatives.
Mr Luff's letter said: "I'm concerned some negative voices are being raised in Droitwich Spa about planned developments.
"I want to put on the record my view that, thanks to the leadership of the town, district and county councils, Droitwich is on the verge of a really bright new future.
"The strategy of Wychavon to attract Waitrose to a High Street location in the town could transform the retail heart of Droitwich."
