A HEREFORDSHIRE company has cornered an unusual niche market.
Border Oak Design & Construction is supplying the Japanese market with houses...in a box!
The Leominster company, which specialises in building traditional, oak framed, half-timbered homes, has already supplied a cottage and a farmhouse in a box and a third boxed home is on its way.
Ordered over the Internet, the off-the-peg export range of homes is boxed and delivered to the door, ready to go.
Border Oak's managing director, John Greene, said it was a growing market for the company, which usually designs houses to the specifications of the buyer.
"There is increasing interest from Japan in innovative, quality homes. We already have enquiries for another six homes," he said.
