HEREFORD United travel to Nationwide Conference bottom club Chester City tonight (7.45) looking for a hat-trick of wins under the stewardship of caretaker boss Phil Robinson.

The Bulls have put together back-to-back wins against Farnborough Town and Leigh RMI on Friday since Robinson took the helm at Edgar Street and travel to Chester in search of a third victory.

Robinson is set to name an unchanged squad from the victorious one that won 1-0 in Lancashire with a John Snape strike.

They do have on-loan Birmingham City defender Tony Capaldi available again after missing the last two games through international duty with Northern Ireland's under 21s.

Chester fell 3-0 at home to Margate on Saturday but Robinson will approach the game with caution after the Bulls came unstuck at then bottom club Hayes 4-1 two weeks ago, which culminated in Graham Turner relinquishing control of team affairs.

But confidence is returning to the side after the poor run that gave them just one win in nine and Robinson is looking for a sustained effort from his players.

"I have said all along we have just got to show the same sort of performances we have since the Hayes game because it was not good enough," he said.

"I told the players that as long as we are showing improvement in everything we do then the results should get better.

"The Leigh result was very good because they had won four out of their last five and had been scoring a lot of goals.

"They have a couple of new strikers that have been scoring goals so to get a clean sheet was excellent but to get three points was more than I could have hoped for.

"Everybody is fit but a couple of the players didn't train fully yesterday so we will wait to check on them."

Chester sacked boss Gordon Hill after the Margate defeat and have put former Tranmere defender Steve Mungall in temporary charge. Hill, a target for abuse from the Chester fans, has reverted to his old job as youth team manager.

They are two points adrift at the bottom after winning only two of their first 14 games but have taken all their players off the transfer list following the takeover of the struggling club by Liverpool businessman Stephen Vaughan.
