An arsonist who put lives at risk has been warned by a judge he can expect a jail sentence.
Richard Tomes torched the front doors of two flats in Nightingale Court in Evesham.
The 36-year-old admitted arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered between Sunday, May 6 and Wednesday, May 9 this year when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court.
But a not guilty plea to arson with intent to endanger life was accepted by the prosecution.
Judge Michael Mott told the married father-of-three to make arrangements "in expectation of being sent down".
The judge said he had committed a very dangerous offence.
The doors and hallways of two flats were damaged by fire and residents in one flat were put at risk.
Tomes, of Rynal Street, Evesham, was granted bail, with a condition he lived at his home address while a pre-sentence report was prepared.
The court heard he had received counselling from an alcohol advisory service and had not touched alcohol since the offence.
A psychiatric report on Tomes was handed in for consideration by the judge who will sentence him on a date to be fixed.
The flats belonged to Bromford Carinthia Housing Association.
