A MAN had a lucky escape after a five-ton piece of machinery fell on him at a Kidderminster carpet factory.
The man, who has not been named, was helping dismantle a carpet shearing machine at around 11.40am yesterdayat Brockway Carpets, in Hoobrook, when part of the machine fell on his legs.
Firefighters from Kidderminster and Stourport-on-Severn, together with the emergency tender from Worcester, were called to the scene of the accident, where they managed to release the man, who has not been named.
He was taken to the Ronkswood branch of Worcester Royal Infirmary where he was treated for minor injuries.
A spokesman for the fire service said the worker had a very lucky escape from an incident which could have been very serious.
