MEMBERS and visitors were welcomed to the Inkberrow and District Horticultural Society's 41st Annual Show at Inkberrow Village Hall on September 1.
Mrs Atkin thanked the main judge, Duncan Coombes, a senior lecturer at Pershore College. Other judges were Miss Hilary Bainbridge, headteacher of Church Lench First School; John Harris, local watercolorist and artist; Miss Louise Kimber, restaurant manager of the Bull's Head; Mrs Stella Wallis and Mrs Marion Freeman.
The Society Challenge Cup for the highest number of points in the flower section was won by Fred Hunt, who also won the Society Challenge Cup for vegetables, the Barnes Challenge Cup for the highest number of points in show and the Top Tray Award.
The Dormston Challenge Cup for Roses was won by John Tromans, who also won the Worrall Memorial Trophy, best in show, for his display of roses; the Society Cup for Pot Plants was won by Debbie Davies and the Community Cup for Fruit by Margaret Jones. Wynn Betteridge won the Worrall Challenge Cup for Flower Arranging.
Pat Atkin won the W Ganderton Cup for preserves, cookery and handicrafts and the Charlotte Hopkins Trophy for children's classes was won by Catherine Quinn. The Banksian Medal winner was Bridget Quinn.
