TENANTS from Droitwich Spa are being urged to buy shares in the town's housing association.
Spa Housing Association clients can become shareholders in the Queen Street firm for just £1.
Although there will be no financial benefits, those who take up the offer will have the right to vote on the proposed merger with Elgar Housing Association, in Malvern.
Both associations would maintain their independence but bosses believe they can offer a better service to tenants by joining forces.
Wychavon Tenants' Association (WTA) treasurer Sheila Neary said: "We are advising all Spa tenants to take out a shareholding membership so they can have their say on the future of Spa housing."
Other shareholder benefits include an invitation and the right to vote at the group's annual general meeting, a copy of the company's annual report and audited accounts, the right to vote on any proposed changes to the association rules, a share certificate and a copy of the tenants' newsletter.
Housing association director of operations Donna Baddeley told the Advertiser/Messenger: "We are happy to receive applications from tenants who wish to become shareholders and we will process these in the normal way."
