STUDLEY Parish Council has backed plans to cut the speed limit along the A435 Alcester Road.
At a meeting last week with the Highways Agency and contractors WS Atkins, proposals to cut the limit from 60 to 50mph between Gorcott Hill to a point south of the Dog Island were mooted.
The second proposal is to then cut the limit to 40 mph for the rest of the route into the village.
The parish council agreed but felt the 40mph limit should be imposed immediately south of the Dog Island.
The Highways Agency and WS Atkins agreed to look again at their plans.
