THE town's household waste site closes this weekend for 20 weeks of renovation.
The Hanbury Road tip shuts at 1pm this Sunday. The planned improvements are aimed at providing a more user-friendly site and introducing longer opening hours.
Contractors are creating a split-level site so junk can be dropped into skips. A full range of recycling facilities will be installed.
Green waste will be composted and sold.
While work takes place, waste can be disposed of at sites in Worcester, Redditch and Pershore.
Droitwich Spa town councillor John Cook (Lab, Droit.West) urged residents not to dump rubbish in the town.
He also reminded people about Wychavon District Council's bulky rubbish collection.
Cllr Cook added that he was concerned about gas canisters which have been left for contractors who are not allowed to move them.
