BIG Future can follow a similar path to last year's winner Caribbean Monarch and land the sandown.co.uk Stakes (Showcase Handicap) at the Esher track tomorrow.

Caribbean Monarch's success last year followed his victory in the Royal Hunt Cup and, although Big Future had to settle for runner-up in the Royal Ascot event, Amanda Perrett's charge can oblige here.

The Bigstone colt ran a cracker in defeat at the Royal meeting. Beaten two and a half lengths by the winner, Big Future came home four lengths ahead of his rivals racing on the stands' side.

The handicapper has reacted to that performance by raising Big Future 5lb but the colt should be good enough to handle the hike.

A step up in trip should benefit Team-Mate in the ABN Amro Futures 'Abacus' Maiden Stakes.

This progressive and well-bred sort had shown more than a modicum of ability in his debut run at Newmarket before catching the eye when finishing a length-and-a-half runner-up to Wood Dalling at Ripon last month.

Those runs were over a mile and nine furlongs respectively and the extra furlong, plus Sandown's stiff uphill finish, should prove an advantage to the Nashwan colt's chances.

Any rain would also help Team-Mate's cause.

Mister Cosmi can resume winning ways in the Dragon Stakes, a Listed race for two-year-olds over five furlongs.

The Mark Johnston-trained colt had a stiff task when attempting to give 8lb to the potentially smart Henri Lebasque at Goodwood last month and did very well to be beaten just a length and three quarters into second place.

He had won in good style on his debut at Hamilton and looks a useful sort himself.

Best bet at Newcastle may be Camaraderie in the bet365.com Handicap.

And Lord Podgski can outjump his rivals in the Liles Racing Novices' Chase at Market Rasen's jumps meeting.
