WHAT provoked the outburst of insulting language against the Labour party in the Phillpott File (Evening News, June 12)?

Could it be the kind of reaction one would expect from a right-wing Tory supporter having to accept that his party had suffered another crushing defeat in the recent polls?

I also wonder just how serious Mr Phillpott regards his stated anti-European views.

For instance, he says he voted for the UK Independent party. But frankly I'm astonished he made that kind of decision, bearing in mind his astuteness on such matters.

Surely he should have reasoned that the UKIP had no earthly chance of being elected, nationally nor locally?

In other words, the withdrawal from European Union was never on the cards, therefore the better option from his point of view would have been to vote Tory, thereby upping his chances of at least retaining the pound for the next five years. So which way did he really vote?

Regarding his comments that Britain is now a one-party state seems a bit rich. Particularly so when he fails to mention those 18 long years of Tory rule in which that very circumstance prevailed.

Even more amazing is his audacity to accuse Labour of using misinformation and mindless spin, when every paragraph of his article bears the hallmarks of a propagandist from the Tory right wing, of course. So which way did he really vote?
