BATTING first West Malvern relied heavily upon the anchor role played by Brian Pleass to establish a sound total as West's other batsmen fell around him.

Dave Cantrell and Chris Martin provided the attacking flourish to enable a declaration to be made at 181 for six wickets.
The Fossils got off to a sound start but lost quick wickets with Dudley breaking through. However M Jones and Clark put together a dangerous partnership until Jones was bowled by Cantrell for 49.
Despite valiant attempts to support by Millis and W Jones the game ended in a balanced draw.
