THE news that there is to be an independent inquiry about the services to be provided at Kidderminster Hospital is, of course, welcome.

However, the inquiry is not about satisfying the interests of the NHS and its institutions, so it is equally important that the remit ensures that the wants and needs of patients, both in and beyond Worcestershire, are fully taken into account as well as the impact of any changes on other inter-related services.
