AMAZING Feet Running Club had a busy week as the Inter-club Race League got going again.

The competition had been postponed over the last four months due to the foot and mouth crisis.

Twelve club members took part in the Sting In The Tail race last Friday in Telford - the highest club entry by far of the 57 runners who took part.

Ruth Ince finished second lady in 40 minutes 48 seconds for 27th overall on a tough and hilly 5.3 mile multi-terrain course.

John Amos picked up the award for first male over 45, finishing 12th in 36-00.

Lindsay Pulley was first over-60 in 48-58 (47th), Irene Sanders was second in her category in 54-49 (53rd), while husband Eddie finished as third over-50 in 36-11 (14th).

Chris Miles finished 17th in 37-10, Andy Norris 28th in 40-48 and Jackie Hughes 55th in 55-03.

New members Ian Webb and Andrew Beecroft completed their first races in 40-37 (26th) and 44-41 (40th) respectively.

Richard Baker finished 42nd in 45-19 and Colin Pheasant 45th in 46-18.

Amos increased his lead over Miles with Norris still third, Pulley fourth and Eddie Sanders fifth.

For Baker, this was the second of three races in five days as he took part in the Coventry Midsummer Five road race on Wednesday, finishing 215th in 37-35 out of a good field of 318.

He also ran in Sunday's Barrow Classic 10-mile road race in Leicestershire, struggling in the heat to 1 hour 26-22. Pheasant recorded 1-32-09.

Lloyd Wright ran in the Pitchcroft 10km in Worcester, recording 50-18 for 87th position in only his second race.

Club president Les Jones ran his 80th marathon at Lake Vrynwy, recording an excellent time of 4-11-40. Craig Freeman finished in 3-57-40.
