EASTNOR v ELMLEY CASTLE

EASTNOR strolled into the group semi-final to face local rivals Colwall, in a fortnights time, in the Wadworths 6X round three group 15 match against Elmley Castle by an impressive ten wickets.

The visiting batting struggled most of their innings against the villagers pace attack, slowly reaching 30 runs in ten overs before early wickets began to tumble. A stand of 47 between Collicott (23) and Barber (18) took the total on from a dismal 45-5 before the reintroduction of Shahid saw both depart in the same over with the total having advanced to 94.

Shahid (3-9) was Eastnor's most successful bowler.

Skipper Jim Sandford (two wickets) and Khalid (two wickets) continued Shahid's and Naeem's earlier work, the visitors all out for 98 in the 29th over.

In reply the task seemed to be no problem and although Elmley used six bowlers to try for the breakthrough, Shahid (71no - three 6s, 11 4's) and a patient Nick Bollen (20no) led the villagers to victory in just 14 overs.
