Mr Wm. Manton, auctioneer and estate agent, will conduct a sale of freehold residences at the Imperial hotel on June 18th. The properties are situated on the St James' Estate, West Malvern, and were erected at great expense by the late Dowager Lady Howard de Walden. Malvern Gazette, May 31, 1901.

Thomas Smith, 18, a labourer of Bye Street, was charged with assaulting Tomas Jones. Prosecutor said that on the night in question he met defendant in Bye Street and they went to the Brewery Inn. Defendant called for a pint of cider but the landlord gave him his money back and turned him out. Prosecutor stayed till 11 o'clock. Defendant was waiting outside, ran up behind him and gave him a hard kick in the back. Ledbury Free Press, June 4, 1901.

Ram Gopal, one of the greatest dancers of the world and India's finest artist, is visiting Malvern's Festival Theatre next week with his company of dancers and musicians. Malvern Gazette, June 1, 1951.

After he had taken a wrong turning, Alan Needham, of Nottinghamshire, decided to drive over Bringsty Common towards Worcester, on his way to Kidderminster. But the lorry turned over and he is now in hospital. Ledbury Reporter, June 1, 1951.

Ten Turkish students will be visiting Malvern for three weeks in July. They will be living with families belonging to the Malvern branch of the Experiment in International Living. Mal-vern Gazette, June 3, 1976.

Ledbury shopkeepers are being asked to co-operate in a scheme to give the town a festive air when this year's carnival is held on Bank Holiday Monday (August 30).
