Carol Bradburn was the May speaker, on the Work and History of the WRVS.

This movement was founded in 1938 as the WVS, and in 1944 "Meals on Wheels" was introduced, half of which is provided by the WRVS.

Carol told how the service became "Meals on Boats" in Shrewsbury during the floods.

WRVS volunteers help in hospitals by manning coffee bars etc, and they help the emergency services.

The competition for a wartime souvenir was won by Edna Bache.

Norma Bratt won the flower of the month competition, with Jenny Vanderhook second and Barbara Smith third.
