A TALENTED teenage goalkeeper is continuing to pursue a professional football deal after being handed a prestigious county award.

Adrian Hipkins, who plays for the Worcestershire FA U-18s side, was given the Jack Fox Memorial Trophy player of the year award.

The trophy, presented by youth committee chairman Ron Lewis, marks Hipkins' efforts for the county squad.

Hipkins, 17, will soon have finished his A-levels at Kidderminster's King Charles I High School and is desperate for a full-time football career.

He plays for Bewdley Town who enjoyed a useful season in the Banks's Brewery League Division One South and has also turned out for Kidderminster Harriers youth.

His father Brian said: "Adrian just wants to get his foot in the door with a professional club.

"He's been playing men's football for Bewdley which is what Harriers advised him to do in order to improve his overall game."

Hipkins has had trials with Second Division Notts County and with England schools squad.
