PACE ace Glenn McGrath is back at New Road for the next three days -- and keen to turn in the kind of lethal performance he produced regularly for Worcestershire last year.

Indeed, the Aussie star was so successful for the County last term that he made a clean sweep of the club's end of season awards.

He finally finished with a massive haul of 114 wickets in all competitions -- and spectators at New Road during the next three days can expect him to resume business as usual!

He said: "It was a bit of a buzz coming into Worcester on Tuesday night. I'd been looking forward to catching up with all the boys and I spoke to Tom Moody and got the lowdown on what's been happening.

"I'm looking forward to playing against Worcestershire. It will be a bit of fun. It's always great being on a national tour and you couldn't ask for a better place to start than at Worcester.

"I regard it as a home ground for me and it will be good to play in front of a packed crowd. The games we played last year there wasn't always a full crowd, but I'm sure there will be this time.

Hectic

"It's great to start off at Worcester and you couldn't ask for more."

McGrath -- his hectic schedule permitting -- is due to return to the County next season, but it's over the next three days where the spotlight will be back on him at New Road.

Moody said: "He's a class act and perfectly suited to English conditions as he proved in the last Ashes series and here at Worcester last year. He's going to lead the Australian attack and lead them in fine style."
