KIDDERMINSTER angler John Brooks caught 11 rainbows to 5.25lb at Silligrove fishery.

The Troutmasters fish-off saw the town's Trevor Bransford end in second place with eight fish behind a Solihull angler.

A catch of six rainbows, included one of 8lb, caught on a riva.

On the coarse scene, one angler caught 50lb of tench and carp, including a carp of 10.5lb.

The improving weather is helping the fishing.

SHATTERFORD LAKES

Don Slater, of Kidderminster, landed nine rainbows to 2lb, fishing during a one hour 30 minute session on the Wyre Dell with pheasant's tail.

The top angler landed 22 rainbows to 3lb on a cats whisker off the Masters Lake.

A bag of 15 fish to 7lb was caught with a Shatterford Special from the dam wall on the Masters.

On the coarse scene, there were plenty of catfish taken, one a 30lb 12oz specimen in a catch which included six carp to 18lb 10oz, caught with whisky boilies and chum mixed.

A 25lb catfish was caught with luncheonmeat and one angler caught a 23lb catfish and 13 carp to 21lb on boilies and pellets.

Chum mixed lured carp to 16lb 6oz on the Erics and two of 18lb 2oz fell to a Wednesfield angler at the same time on two rods.

Two 17lb catfish were landed with boilies and one of these anglers also caught an 18lb carp, all off the Stuarts Lake.

An estimated bag of bream and grass carp to 40lb were taken on the Stella Lake.

There will be an unscheduled match on the bottom pool on Sunday (the first 10 names to be submitted will be fishing), draw at 8am.

Some members owe money to the club which is now urgently required as the pools have to be paid for.
