Kempsey 4

Littleton 0

LITTLETON lost their last Worcester Premier League game of the season when they went down at Kempsey.

Kempsey needed to win to clinch second place and had strengthened their side accordingly. This, however, was a very good game in which Littleton gave their all and although Kempsey were worthy winners, the victory margin was very hard on Littleton.

Kempsey started at a cracking pace, but in their rush to get the ball forward often overhit it and caused Littleton few problems.

Littleton themselves went close after 14 minutes. A Chris Bate throw found Steve Pitcher, he in turn passed to David Tomkotowicz whose shot was charged down.

Kempsey attacked, a Dean Roberts pass found Dave Smith whose cross/shot went just wide.

Kempsey took the lead on the half hour with a bizarre goal. Rick Hallion took a free kick at least 40 yards out. He hit it with no great power and everyone left it to someone else, with the result it ended up in the net.

At the start of the second half Curtis Major nearly scored with a header from a Davies free kick. The ball brushing the bar.

Kempsey went two up shortly after. A strong run down the left by Gormley was followed by a shot which the keeper palmed away to Sam Pallett who scored from close range.

Littleton then attacked constantly and created several chances, but were unable to convert any.

The game was effectively sealed when the referee awarded Kempsey a penalty which Dean Roberts converted.

In injury time, Lee Manion wrapped up the scoring.
