FIVE Bromsgrove & Redditch Athletics Club members travelled to Burton-on-Trent for the Drakelow 10 mile on Sunday with Sharon Hetherington declaring she was only there for a training run.
Phil Anderson (V40) took the race out but on a hard, hot course was passed by Sharon at 7.5 miles.
Despite tiring she went on to win the open ladies race in 1.2.34.
Phil battled on and was satisfied with his time of 1.2.59.
Peter Hawcroft (V50) was steadily closing in and recorded 1.3.31.
Steve James (V40) had not raced for some time and so was pleased with his time of 1.8.38.
Close behind was Roger Beacham (V60) who ran a brilliant 1.10.06 to finish second in his age group.
