GUYS and gals from across The Pond have been making a big impact in Studley by helping to clean up the Millennium Green.

Nine Americans, from Christian campus houses at East Tennessee and Appalachian state universities, then served free food and organised games such as American Frisbee and baseball on the green itself for about 400 revellers last Wednesday.

The youngsters are spending two weeks working with Studley churches as part of a Christian project to help communities in England by enhancing facilities, particularly those for young people.

The team also put up a marquee on the green and on Thursday there was a free concert featuring local rock and Christian bands.
