THIS was the final match of the Worcester & District Football League Division Four season for Malvern and looking like goal difference would decide who would win the league and who would be runners up.

MALVERN RM 10, AFC VAUXHALL 0

Malvern were without top goal scorer Chris Golding who finished the season with 34 goals, this gave Scott Senter an opportunity to catch his fellow team mate and take the golden boot.

Scott needed eight goals to tie but wanted nine to topple his mate, he got off to a flying start scoring five of the six goals, which gave Malvern a 6-0 lead at half time.

Unfortunately for Scott he was only to score another two which gave him a final total of 33. Times of the goals were Scott Senter (7) 9, 11. 17, 36, 45, 88, 90. Tim Clarke (2) 27, 82. Karl Ford 79, this was Karl's first goal for Malvern since transferring from Powick.

After the match all the Malvern team felt confident that they had left their closest rivals a very difficult task, not only to win their last two matches but to win by 16 clear goals.

The in a sudden twist of fate they discovered that St Domingo's had lost 3-2 to Virgin Sports and Malvern RM were champions of Division Four.

There could only have been one Man of the Match, Scott Senter, but everyone gave everything and fully deserve to be champions.

All players and background staff at Malvern RM would like to thank RSRE Committee, John and all the staff at the New Inn, Lower Howsell Road, all the friends and colleagues who have supported the team throughout the season especially Elwyn Williams, Andrew Richards and Andy Pead.
