I ATTENDED the polling station to register my vote in the matter of the town council and was turned away. Apparently, having moved house, my name did not appear on the April electoral register from which eligibility was determined.
Reading your report of the event (May 4), I note that Coun David Williams said "he would not be resigning as the majority of town residents had not asked him to" and "... they are happy with the performance of the town council".
As I was unable to vote, may I register my view through your column? Not only should town councillors resign but the town council should be abolished. The black hole which the council has created will drag Malvern into an abyss of degeneration, crime, lawlessness and poverty.
Wake up Mr Williams and listen to what the people of this town are telling you.
ALAN KEYTE, Worcester Road, Malvern.
