WHIST DRIVE: To raise funds for the County Air Ambulance Service, a whist drive was held at the Royal British Legion Club, in the village of Pinvin, on Wednesday evening May 16. Organised by Mrs B Hodges, Mr J Chester, Miss F Ricketts and by courtesy of the Royal British Legion Club, 17 tables were in play. Mr John Chester, MC, of the whist. Donations of prizes, contributed by the traders of Pershore, and many interested people, helped to make the event a success. Mr C Bromfield was MC of the grand draw. Whist, mystery and raffle prizes were won by: Mrs I Griffiths, Mrs J Bunn, Mrs E Edwards, Mr P Macarthy, Mrs D Poll, Mrs G Bryan, Mr A Perks, Miss J Wilesmith, Mr D Bunn, Mrs A Coates, Mrs M Higgins, Mrs O Taylor, Mr J Chester, Mrs N Armstrong, Mr J Redding, Mrs A Richardson, Mrs P Miles, Mr E Willis, Mrs D Tyler, Mrs D Yarwood, Mr H Smith, Mrs H Archer, Mr D Crook, Mrs D Daves, Mrs M Lock, Mr C Griffin, Mrs J Jenkins, Mrs J Palmer, Mr G Perks, Mr R Davies, Mrs D Hickmott, Mrs C Evans, Mr C Bromfield, Mrs G Crook and Mrs B Bromfield.

A profit of £217 was raised for the Air Ambulance Fund. Appreciation was expressed to everybody who had made the evening so successful.
