We would like to register our support for all those who feel that the proposed closure of the Cropthorne Post and Stores has not been given sufficient thought or taken into account the wishes of the majority of the villagers.

We support the present owners who would like to convert their house back into their HOME,and want to retire in Cropthorne after 18 years excellent service to the village. It seems odd that the people who are willing to convert their home into a new PO/Store incorporating the requirements of the Disabled Discrimination Act have been turned down by the Planning Authority who have failed to understand the wishes and needs of the people of this village. In a country where local facilities are of extreme importance to the community and vital to the life of a village, it would seem very shortsighted, and very undemocratic to allow this ridiculous situation to succeed.
