I CANNOT see much hope for pensioners in any party.

The Conservatives hold out a carrot of tax relief, idiotic, in that it only applies to 10% of the pensioner population, and they still suffer from the Thatcher syndrome. Pensioners are not producers, and, therefore unworthy of consideration.

Labour has no time for past history, and pensioners are part of that past history.

The people who fought, and worked for this country during the war, to make it the most attractive in terms of living standards, and free speech, are now discarded as refuse.

The Liberal party proposes to put up taxes to increase pensions. This will only result in alienating the rest of the population. One can hear the comments. "They go on holiday look affluent, why should we be taxed for such as them? Pensioners don't waste a penny, they were not brought up in a 'throw away' society.

Hire purchase was taken on only as a last resort, never used for frivolous things, it had to be essential, to go into debt for.

In the twilight years of life they are not asking for any thing they do not deserve, just rightful consideration.
