WEST Worcestershire MP Sir Michael Spicer will face no action over failing to declare an interest during a debate.
The House of Commons Standards and Privileges Committee said Sir Michael had committed only a "minor and inadvertent" infringement of parliamentary rules.
The complaint about Sir Michael, lodged by Labour MP John Cryer, referred to a speech he made on November 17, 1999 which had previously been criticised in the committee's report of May 23, 2000.
Sir Michael had been talking about competition and regulation in industry.
