KIDDERMINSTER Harriers' proposed loan signing of Peter-borough United striker Drewe Broughton has been put on hold.

Manager Jan Molby had ag-reed a one month loan deal with the 22-year-old only for Brough-ton to change his mind after a call from Reading.

He will now spend the week with the Nationwide League Div-ision Two side with the hope of impressing them sufficiently to earn at transfer.

Molby now intends to monitor the situation but could well wid-en his search for a striker, especially as front-runners Ian Foster and Stewart Hadley are both struggling with injuries.

Harriers assistant manager Gary Barnett said: "We certainly need a striker who has the ability to hold the ball and link play up.

"We've got pace with Foster and Hadley and we've got the trickery and cunning of John Durnin but we need the stren-gth of a target man as well."
