JAN Molby is warning his Kidderminster Harriers players to be on red alert ag-ainst a wounded Southend United in tonight's Nationwide League Third Divi-sion clash at Agg-borough (7.45).

The Shrimpers crashed to a 3-0 home defeat against Halifax Town on Saturday and Molby is anxious to make sure Harriers don't fall victim of a backlash.

He said: "We mustn't let their defeat mislead us. They are where they are in the league because they are a good side and have a knack of picking up great away results.

"They are the only team to win at Leyton Orient and one of only two teams to win at Brighton. They've also won at Rochdale, so let's not underestimate them.

"They are an excellent side and defend very well. They are very well organised and they work extremely hard.

"Although they did lose against Halifax all good teams have one or two results during the season go against them, but we have got two home games in a row now and we are going to try to win both of them."

When Harriers visited Roots Hall on September 12 they returned home with a 1-1 draw with former Worcester City campaigner Mark Shail being Kidderminster's marksman.

Molby said: "I felt we should have won but they have done well since. They did well when Alan Little was there and they've done well since Dave Webb has come in."

Kidderminster are likely to be unchanged from the side which drew 0-0 at high-riding Leyton Orient on Saturday.

Molby said: "In the last two games we have had the same 16 and none of them are injured so I see know reason why we should change it."

Daire Doyle will continue in midfield in place of Andy Ducros who was taken out of the starting line-up on Saturday to enable him to re-charge his batteries.

He was one of Harriers substitutes, but might miss out on being on the bench tonight because of a bout of influenza.

He was sent home yesterday and Harriers will be checking on his availability today.

Still ruled out because of hamstring injuries are defender Scott Stamps and front-runner Ian Foster while new capture Drewe Broughton will again be in attack despite suffering a head injury at Orient which required four stitches.

"He's trained and there's no problem with him," reported Molby whose side are currently in 14th place in the table.

Southend are in eighth place with 47 points from 30 matches putting them just two points off a play-off place.

On their travels in the league they have experienced mixed fortunes, having won five, lost five and drawn three.

After Saturday's defeat, boss Webb said: "We were awful. We were second best all over the pitch -- it was a horror show."

Webb took over the Southend 'hot-seat' in October. The one-time Bournemouth and Brentford manager had previously been in charge of Nationwide Conference side Yeovil Town.

He was at Roots Hall between 1988 and 1992 before quitting as general manager after a row with former chairman Vic Jobson.

The former tough-guy centre-half played for Chelsea during the sixties and achieved great success at Stamford Bridge as a player, but his greatest achievements as a manager were with Southend after he guided the Essex club into the first division in 1991.
